Today I have no words!

I am devastated by the fact that my Darling Brother passed away early on Wednesday 27th March age 53. The ending of his life was so sudden and and he left without a goodbye, I am only thankful that we were able to stay with him until the end and that his passing was peaceful and free of pain ..
Sleep well John, my Brother and my friend

Always something going on!!

A lot has been happening of late, we as a family have all been trying to come to terms with the 'landslide' news concerning my Brother, but on a brighter note I have been awarded a Liebster award by Todd of thisguyquilts.blogspot.com whom I have been following for several months, I take this award as a great compliment and will do my best to respond to it. To qualify, a blog must have either less than 200 followers or be less than 6 months old, (I fall into the first category there), then to accept the award I have to abide by the rules so I now have to write a post in which I
1) List 11 random things about myself. 2) Answer 11 questions posed by Todd. 3) Choose 11 blogs to pass the award onto and link them to my post. 4) Create 11 questions for those 11 people to answer.

I think this bit is quite tricky, but here goes.....
1) I am mad about Apes especially Orangutans.
2) I once did a 24 hour walk for Charity. (Oooh my poor feet, but we raised a lot of money!)
3) My sense of humor sometimes goes 'missing in action'.
4) The feel of fresh peach skins give me the 'creeps' I need a poly bag over my hand to handle them.
5) I tend to put off tasks till the last minute, but get there in the end.
6) I hate being late for appointments.
7) Yesterday I forgot my own wedding anniversary, for the fist time in 38 years and HE remembered!
8) I would love to learn Astronomy, the stars and constellations fascinate me.
9) My nickname at school was 'drainpipe' (I know I was tall but honestly!!!!)
10) I would have loved to have designed my own home, and had my Dear husband build it for me.
11) I would like to be more organized... but Hey this is who I am!!!

These are the questions set by Todd...
1. Favourite song of all time? Young Girl (Get outta my mind) by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap
2. And...favourite film of all time? 'Juno' (2007) starring Ellen Page and Michael Cera
3. Which actor/actress do you least like and why? Bob Hope (He just gave me the creeps!)
4. Are you a cat person or dog person... or both? and why? Both! I like the way cats can be so aloof one minute then jump up for a cuddle the next, and dogs because they are so loyal and have an inbuilt empathy with their owners, plus they are both such fun to have around!
5. Your number #1 vice? Definitely CHOCOLATE
6. The hardest decision you've ever had to make? Deciding to become a single parent 42 years ago.
7. The craziest thing you've ever done? Going abseiling when I am sooo terrified of heights!
8. What quality do you value most in other people? Honesty
9. What is your greatest quilting achievement to date? Running my own business to teach quilting.
10. The best piece of advice you've received? To accept myself as I am (My Grandmother's advice)
11. What is the best thing about quilting? I have made soo many friends and its such FUN!
These are the blogs I nominate for the award...

And finally those questions...
1) Who or what inspires you and why?

3) What is your greatest Passion in life?
4) If you could choose to meet one famous person, who would it be?
5) What is your pet Hate?

10) What is the most useful quilting tip you have ever been given?
